Monarch Butterflies

For the first time at ISSI, in August 2018 we offered a breakout session on the Monarch Butterflies (Danaus plexippus). The class covered the morphology, biology, life cycle, annual cycle, migration, cultural significance, threats and conservation of this wandering species.

You can download a copy of the presentation. It is in PDF format and each page includes notes with the translation of the page into Spanish as well as some other interesting facts. The notes can be viewed by moving your mouse over the tiny icon that shows up in the top left corner of each page.

You can also download a copy of the vocabulary list for the class.
